A vallás fogalmát nehéz meghatározni, de általában egy térben és időben adott, kulturálisan meghatározott formaként értelmezzük, amelyhez istenség(ek), hit, szertartás, hitélmény, vallási közösségek, tanítások, intézmények, szervezetek fogalmai tartoznak.

A református nevelés és oktatás történelmi hagyományainak és Karácsony Sándor munkáságának rövid áttekintése után kijelenthetjük, hogy a református iskoláztatás hagyományai beleépültek Karácsony Sándor pedagógiájába. Az évszázadok során formálódott református pedagógia jó alapot teremtett és teremtett a diákoknak tudásuk kiszélesítésére és a közösségi magatartás kialakítására. A széles spektrumú koncepció hatékonyságát több neves református tudós igazolja. A bibliai alapon nyugvó mellérendelő viszony kialakítása embertársainkkal mindenki számára megadja a lehetőséget, hiszen egyenlő mértékben fogad el és tiszteli a másik embert. Karácsony Sándor koncepciója és tevékenysége azt szemlélteti, hogy a protestáns elveket miként lehet alkalmazni a gyakorlatban. Ő arra törekedett, hogy példát mutasson a neveltjeinek, és hogy tanúbizonyságot tegyen református hitéről. Tevékeny közösségi ember volt, aki nagy hatást gyakorolt tanítványi körére. Ezért szellemi örökségének ápolását több egyesület, intézmény, műhely fontosnak tartja napjainkban is. Ezeknek alapítói között megtalálhatjuk egykori tanítványait, de már azt újabb tanítványi csoport is.

Freude aus der Verheissung des Evangeliums – Pfarrdienst in Diaspora und Volkskirche – so lautet das Thema unserer Tagung. Wenn man mich vor fünfundvierzig Jahren, als ich mein Theologiestudium abschloss, mit diesem Thema konfrontiert hätte, so hätte ich gesagt. Ja, selbstverständlich! Ich freute mich auf den Dienst in meiner Kirche. Ich wollte das Evangelium verkündigen. Wir waren damals von der Bibel und von der Theologie Rudolf Bultmanns geprägt, ein bisschen hatten wir auch von Karl Barth mitbekommen. Ich wollte damals nur eines: Pfarrer werden in meiner Kirche, der Evangelisch-Reformierten Landeskirche des Kantons Zürich in der Schweiz.

The Oldest Pastor Lists in the Szilágy Deanery. The collection of data regarding the service of the reformed ministers in the congregations from Szilágyság began in the end of the 19th century, but the investigation had still many objects. There are so many sources that nobody had studied till yet. The names of the priests from the church district of Szilágy were noticed at about the year 1620 in a contemporary register. Unfortunately this wasn’t kept but it was copied in the 17th century to two other registers. Regarding these roots we tried to reconstruct the original list that counts the names and data of the 140 priests. The list was continually completed with the data of the ministers serving in the district. The earlier list, formed in 1656, contains 280 names, the other that was lead from the year 1680 contains 462 names. Comparing the common part of these, we observed that data are differing in many cases. After all these we got across to make a list that contains the names and data of 478 priests, from the beginning of the 17th century until 1827.
