A tanintézmény a századforduló éveiben szervezett előadásai a diákok esztétikai nevelésén túl a város, a környék ízlésformálásához járultak hozzá. A politikai, egyházi főméltóságok, iskolatámogatók, írók és költők születésének vagy halálának évfordulóin szervezett ünnepségek, a zabolai emléktábla, valamint a tanintézmény zászlójának avatására kitalált ünnepi forgatókönyvek a kor társadalmi életének meghatározó elemei maradtak.

Pál apostol életét és missziós tevékenységét számos tudományos mű dolgozta fel, és voltak olyan merész, vállalkozó szellemű keresztyén utazók is – és nemcsak teológusok –, akik végigjárták azt az utat, amelyről Az apostolok cselekedetei és Pál levelei tudósítanak. Ezek közé tartozott az angol származású újságíró, H. V. Morton is, aki elsősorban saját hazájával ismertette meg az olvasókat, de a 20. század harmincas éveiben bejárta Pál apostol missziós útjainak helyszíneit is. H. V. Morton:1 Pál apostol nyomában című útleírásának második, magyar nyelvű kiadása 1986-ban jelent meg Budapesten, a Református Zsinati Iroda Sajtóosztálya gondozásában, az eredeti, angol nyelvű változat megjelenésének 50. évfordulója alkalmából.

Die Schöpfung der Welt. Die Schöpfungserzählung der Bibel war und ist auch heute ein Diskutionsthema, nicht nur für die Theologie, sondern auch für die Realwissenschaften. Kann man die zwei Forschungsresultate miteinander in Harmonie bringen? Oder soll man sie ganz voneinander trennen und sagen, dass die Bibel eine Frage des Glaubens ist und mit der wissenschaftlichen Forschung und deren Theorien nichts zu tun hat? Diese Publikation versucht die verschiedenen Interpretationen des Textes darzustellen und gleichzeitig zeigt sie auch eine andere Art den biblischen Text zu lesen. Das ist die literarische Interpretation des Textes. In dieser Interpretationsart bekommt der biblische Text eine neue Dimension, der nach der biblische Text nicht nur eine einfache Glaubensfrage, sondern ein solches literarisches Werk ist, in dem der Verfasser theologisch den ganzen Werdegang dieser Welt beschreibt. So ist die biblische Schöpfungsgeschichte ein literarischer und theologischer Text, in dem der Verfasser in der wissenschaftlichen Sprache seiner Zei über ein Phänomen spricht, das auch ein Forschungsthema für die heutigen Realwissenschaften ist.

The Autobiography of Gyula Mihaly Szigethy. The „peregrinatio academica” is a well documented topic of the transylvanian cultural history from the 17–18th century. Szigethi Gyula Mihály (1758–1837) was one of the thousands of young people, who choosed to travel thousands of miles in order to continue their studies in western-European universities. After finishing the college of Marosvásárhely (Tg. Mures) –one of the best transylvanian calvinist schools of his time –, thanks to the financial support of count Joseph Teleki, he attended the universities of Marburg, Göttingen, Stuttgart and Viena in the period between 1786–1790. Returning home he choosed not to become a priest as it would be a custom in those times, earninig his living for a few years as a privateprofessor in the courts of local nobils. In 1797 ha was ellected professor of the college from Udvarhely (Odorheiul Secuiesc), where he made a carrier, retiring in 1823. In this time he published among others articles about the history of the town and the college of Udvarhely. Although his journal written between 1786–1790 no longer exists, his autobiography –published in our article– written in 1833 contains important datas about the transylvanian educational system from the late 18th and the beginning of the 19th century.
