We are always seeking for the sense of the life, for ourselves and for the place in our family and community. Religion shows a new way to us, according to Jesus Christ’s principles. The son of God not only created a religion, but gave us an example how to live, and sacrifice himself for us. Sándor Karácsony reckons religion as a spiritual behavior, the base of our social contacts. We have to see into our lives and character according to the message of Jesus Christ. The right and appropriate personality can be evolved by individual training.

Die Siebenbürgische Reformierte Kirche ist, trotz der Tatsache, dass sie sich zu synodalpresbyterialen Prinzipien bekennt, eine klerikale, pfarrerzentrierte Kirche. Deshalb ist es nicht eimal an nährend wahr, dass der Dienst des Pfarrers, des Presbyters und des Diakons gleich- rangig wäre, wie es in den Siebenbürgerischen Statuten festgestellt ist. Der Pfarrer, als repräsentative Leitungsperson, verfügt über Macht und Einfluss, auch wenn diese beiden nicht näher bestimmt werden können, obwohl in der Kirche die Quelle jeder Macht und Autorität allein Gott selbst ist. Man soll in der Kirche anstatt von „Macht“ und „Bevollmächtigung“ lieber über „Gottes Allmacht“ reden. In der Kirche ist Christus die gesetzgebende und regierende Macht. Die Kirche hat eine Pflicht: Christi Macht durch sich selber strahlen zu lassen. In die- sem Sinne ist sie keine regierende, sondern eine dienende Kirche. Der Pfarrer, der sich der Nachfolge Jesu verpflichtet hat, kann nur dann glaubwürdig seine Beauftragung vor Gott erfüllen, wenn er auf alle Machtansprüche verzichtet und mit opferbereiter Liebe dient.

The views of Sándor Karácsony about religious education can be clearly discerned from his writings. The main task of reformed pedagogy is to activate continuously the divine notions in this continuously changing world. Protestant teachers must accomplish their daily work according to the Gospel of Christ. The Hungarian Reformed Church was a so-called “church of schools” for hundreds of years. This means that even between WWI and WWII it owned more schools than churches. The number of Reformed schools is significant even today. Sándor Karácsony claims that only Reformed people and communities are able to maintain Reformed schools by people who “are ready to serve and sacrifice themselves” for this cause (Karácsony, Sándor: A magyarok Istene. Széphalom Könyvműhely, Budapest 2004, 172).

Die Apostelgeschichte ist eine Missionsgeschichte, die sich von Jerusalem ausgehend bis zur Hauptstadt des Römischen Reiches erstreckt. Der Rede des Paulus am Aeropag kommt eine besondere Stellung sowohl in Buch als auch in der Missionstätigkeit des Paulus zu. Es ist bemerkenswert, wie der Apostel auf seine Zuhörer achtet und sich ihnen bis zu einem gewissen Grad anpasst. Er sucht voller Phantasie und findet die Nische in der Denkwelt und Religion der griechischen Philosophie,durch welche das Licht des Evangeliums einziehen kann.
